The Story Of Jugnu

A severely bleeding horse was spotted at night by several  people in Dombivili.  Darshak Shah, a local animal welfare activist, gave the horse first aid and sheltered him for the night at the premises of a local dairy owner. Next morning, our ambulance went to pick up the horse. Our Hospital Manager got the local Police station to give us an NOC for transportation.

Injured horse

The horse, a huge trotting Marwari, was bleeding profusely by now. He had a vein which had a tear on it. The ambulance was splattered with blood, and so was our cattle shed, once he was brought in. Dr. Pansare, our visiting cattle veterinarian, had to sedate him to be able to put in the 26 stitches on his leg to stop the bleeding.

Once out of sedation, he began trotting again.
